A Christmas Carol2018-12-02T14:00:00Charles Dickens wrote his most famous novel, A Christmas Carol, 175 years ago this year, and Old Town Theatre celebrates that anniversary this December with an original play based on Dickens' timeless classic. Dickens wrote his novel to appeal to the people of his country on behalf of its impoverished children. He was "stricken" by society's treatment of the poor and hungry, of the plight of working children and indebted families, who were often divided and assigned to orphanages or work houses. Victorian audiences called it a "New Gospel" and lauded its message. We do as well. It just isn't Christmas without the Sprit of generosity, kindness and love.
Bring your family, and join us for a special showing of this magnificent story at Old Town Theatre this Christmas. (some adult themes and supernatural material)
