  3. Student Directed Play: “Tape”

    April 1, 2017, 2:00 PM @ University Theatre Center

Today, more & more advocates are standing up against sexual assault & taking new measures to widen the discussion around the issue. This is one of the reasons why senior Jordan Kearney decided to direct “Tape,” a high-stakes, suspenseful drama that questions right, wrong & how we let our decisions as humans define who we are. “Tape,” written by Stephen Belber, tackles one specific instance regarding sexual assault, but Kearney hopes the audience will feel inclined to research more about the issue after they leave the theatre.

  4. Student Directed Play: “Gruesome Playground Injuries”

    April 1, 2017, 8:00 PM @ University Theatre Center

Gruesome Playground Injuries, written by Rajiv Joseph and directed by senior Joe Serpa Daniels, is a love story with a Band-Aid taped across it. The two main characters, Doug and Kayleen, meet in the elementary school nurses’ office from two separate injuries. From then on, over the span of 30 years, the two manage to run into each other, each time with a different wound. The production’s sharp humor and even sharper insights will leave audience members to reflect on their own playground injuries. Tickets are available through www.shsu.edu/boxoffice
